NEW Routine and a FUN warm up tonight!!

I have a new routine all ready for you tonight at Emporia Fitness, going to be a good one! AND to start it off we’ll be warming up with the Hula Hoops!! Using the hoops will help us warm up and at the same time work our core and our arms.  Its fun and a good calorie burner! Can’t wait to share it with you tonight!!!

PiYo Yoga Back to Basics

Kicking off the new year with Back to Basics!!  Reviewing some of the basic moves and poses that are the building blocks for everything we do in PiYo.  AND we’ll still be working hard, getting stronger, more flexible, improving our balance and working on our core!!  This is the PERFECT time to come if you haven’t been to class in awhile or have never been at all!

Monday and Wednesday 6:35-7:30 at Emporia Fitness, see you there!!

PiYo Yoga at FHTC starts NEXT week!!

Starting January 5th join me for a 7 week session of PiYo Yoga at Flint Hills Tech College!!  Class will be Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.  We will start by learning basic poses from both yoga and Pilates. Then we will put the two forms together, along with more challenging poses, creating a workout that will burn calories and improve strength, balance, and flexibility.  This is  a great way to start the New Year STRONG!!

Only TWO more classes before CHRISTMAS! :)   Come join me for an hour and give yourself a break from all the busyness of the holiday season!  Different routine tonight just to keep you from getting bored :) PLUS bringing in the BOSU balls at the end for some fabulous ab work!! See you tonight!!

December is moving quickly, it will be Christmas before we know it!! I know this time of year gets busy for everyone so its extra important to make sure and take time to take care of YOU!! Give me an hour in PiYo to just focus on your workout, forget about your to-do list, the presents you need to buy, and everything else!  Together we’ll get through the holidays and end the year STRONG!!

Important Dates…

December 15th~Last class of this session at Flint Hills Tech college, we’re going to do an extra long relaxation at the end to celebrate! :)

December 26th~ NO CLASS at Emporia Fitness, the gym will close at 7 p.m. that day so I’ll see you on Wednesday!

January 2nd~NO CLASS, again the gym will close at 7 p.m. that day.

January 5th~New 7 week session starts at Flint Hills Tech College! Thursdays from 5:30-6:30, great class for coming back to PiYo or trying it for the first time.  Go to Flint Hills Tech College to get signed up now!!

New Routine Tonight!

Flinthills Tech ladies be ready for a NEW routine tonight!  It will still have some of the same poses we’ve been doing but changing things up a bit so you don’t get bored!! :) See you tonight!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies

Got this recipe from Kirsten Pyle at Emporia Fitness and I made them today…yummy!! Best thing about them? Beside the chocolate chips that is… :)   The recipe uses whole wheat flour and applesauce which makes them a healthier choice than some of the other desserts that are around this time of year!!

Chcolate Chip Oatmeal Pumpkin Cookies

Ingredients:
2 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. applesauce
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. pumpkin
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. dark chocolate chips

Directions

Combine flour, oatmeal, and baking soda. In a separate bowl cream applesauce, egg, vanilla, brown sugar,  and pumpkin. Add dry ingredients and mix well.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Spoon onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about8-10 minutes.  Enjoy!!
